HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) lanes
Does anyone know the law on using the HOV lane.
Can you use the HOV lane while pulling your boat with two or more people in your truck?

Bob, I was told it was illegal to drive in the HOV lane with a trailer. It would be nice to clear this up.

As long as you are under 10,000 lbs and have more than 1 person in the vehicle, you should be fine (as long as you are moving at the speed of traffic). I've pulled my boat down the HOV lane through town a bunch and never had any issues.

I have pulled my boat in the HOV lane also, but I was told you could not use it if you were pulling a trailer. I just wonder what the law is on trailer and HOV lanes. If Tommy Brown or Robbie get on here, maybe they can tell us the law on trailer and HOV Lanes.

I tried to look on Google and didn't see much. I'll see if I can actually get through to someone at the DPS on the phone.

EDIT: Spoke with Brandy at the State Patrol post in Marietta (I think) and she said that as long as you have 2 or more people, the trailer is irrelavent.

So, you are good to go!

No issues driving in HOV with a trailer as long as there are two people in the vehicle.
