Been watching the forum for a while and decided to join. I am currently in New Jersey and really wanting to move to GA. I found some spots that I want to move to. To give some info about myself. I love my country music, I am a hard worker and I grew up eating rabbit, squirrel, deer and pheasent when I was living at my grandparents. I am really hoping to get some warm welcomes there and hope to meet some fellow fishing buddies. Dont know when the move will happen. Been strugglin' with cash and bills. Hope I fit in on here and one day in glorious GA

Welcome, where in Jersey? As much as I like it here, I sure do miss the Northeast at times. (born and raised)

Right now I am in Northern NJ (Warren County). Nice, quiet and in the country... Yep NJ has some country side LOL. I really dont know where I want to move. One of the places I looked at is Cedartown GA. I also looked at Trion. but I also want to be next to the shore. I love my saltwater fishing too.

I live in Cartersville, most of my work is in Rockmart (near Cedartown). If I were to do it all over again, I would probably lean in favor of the Rome, GA area.

How bad is the crime in that area? I am 26 and Caucasian. Rome looks like a nice big area. I also want to make sure I have a job set before the move

I live in Woodstock and work in Rome, Rome is a nice town but it is just different than what I am used to. To me it seems as if you aren't from Rome you just don't fit in for some odd reason. Nice place though and not knocking it at all, just not for me! I did live there for about 8 months but just had to move back where I was most comfortable! Just do some looking and check out these places once you visit and see what's best for ya, we'd love to have ya down here in the South, sounds llike you'd fit in just fine! Also, you contacted the right group of people here on the GFF to make you feel welcome!

Thanks everyone especially Keith. I bookmarked that site for employment opportunities. I am looking for anything really My wife used to be a lunch lady for over 7 years in a MI elementary school. All the kids loved her and called her "Ms. Sherry" She was also a hair stylist for over 24 years at the same salon but she wants to get out of that. You guys rock and make me want to move there sooner I cant wait to hit the lakes with y'all!

You sound like our kind of folk, and your wife's background should have ample opportunity as well.
