Every where I look there is a sponser posting something or trying to sell something? Is there anyway I can block them where I can't see what they post? Kinda irratating..

Fishing is like sex. It's not a big deal unless your not doing it! I do it all the time.

I see this as well.I was tempted to talk about my rods but decided it was not the right thing to do as I was not a paying advertiser.

Coach, you can promote your rods on here. You do not have to be a paid sponsor to advertise in the classifieds. Just besure and support your thread, and do not bump more than once a day. The more information you can put on there the better. Prices and contact info is pretty much mandatory. Some folks link their websites because the number of items and prices they have.
Craig, most of the folks posting on the Classified section are not Sponsors. As long as they are fishing related and they offer good deals to the members from time to time then they are welcome on here. Please don't let it irritate you, they are very much a part of the forum scene and lots of folks who use those products can benefit from thier participation.

i kinda feel the same way criz feels at times.. its almost like having craigslist on the fishing forum.. real_mad

i was hoping that classified section would be more of anglers getting rid of older stuff they may not use.. such as rods reels or even helmets for those pesky bank beaters... angel

how about you? banana2

Russ, what makes you think you can't do that now? These guys are not sponsors (the sponsors advertise in the banner and the ad spaces). They are entrpreneurs that are getting some low key free advertising. I am sure they are reading this dialogue too. If they get a response from the members then they will continue to pump thier product on here (and thats a good thing if it's something we can use!). If the members don't show any interests then they will eventually move on to another forum where they get a better response. You guys can do what other folks do, if you see a topic title by an obvious person selling thier goods and you don't want to see it, then don't open it! When you do the number of "views" goes up and they know folks are reading it.

Thanks Bob. I do build custon rods with USA made blanks.
All guides and reel seats are Fuji.
Have a hard time supporting Chinese made rods.
Any ways, Thanks for explaining the situation.
I will not step on other toes. Perhaps some one will look at a rod and like it.
I will not try to compete with the Box stores as my materials cost more then some finished rods.
The rods mentioned here are, I am sure, a good product.

The advertising i see on here doesn't bother me, everyone has to make a living, like Bob said if you don't want to see it, don't open it & move on, pretty simple. I have found some items on here very helpfull & of good Value. roll_eyes confused

I don’t mind the advertising, the forum has bills to pay, too.
