I’m new here from Texas. I say new. Been. Here a year just got settled in. Looking to just jump in the game and start fishing. Live on Murray. To be honest it been a little tough for me to bass fish. Should I head to Georgia to chase spots? So what’s the overall pattern for Murray ? Is it I suck that bad and don’t know how to fish a herring lake? I guess I’m just a structure fisherman from Texas. Lol Any lakes recommended or pointers much appreciated. Thank you

Personally, I moved over to North Georgia in 2007 from the DFW area. I haven't been to Murray yet (on the bucket list). In fact I don't know what the ratio of spots to LMB are on Murray. Lake Hartwell, on the Georgia/SC border is loaded with spots. They tend to like the rocky banks more in the summer, and like finesse baits, small jigs, ned rigs, shakey heads, small swimbaits, drop shot during the summer months (at night, however, they will hammer a 3/4 oz Black/red or Black/blue spinner bait with a huge colorado blade and twin tail grub (most any dark color will do). As the water temps rise they will be a little deeper (10'-25' not uncommon). the cleaner the water the more natural colors for the soft plastics and jigs (tip... the soft plastics work night and day - same baits).
Hope this gets you going in the right direction?

Wishful thinking, there aren’t any folks here.
