Does Georgia do chicken fried steak? With white cream gravy? And homemade mashed potatoes? The batter has to be thick and fried to a crunchy golden brown.

CFS is huge in Texas. The success of some restaurants depends on their CFS and sides.

I prefer a thin meat patty, with the golden brown batter about twice as thick as the meat. Crunchy goodness, drowned in white gravy.

And the white cream gravy should have finely ground fresh black pepper and salt. But not so much as to mask the taste of the potatoes.

I prefer red potatoes, or new potatoes as my Grandma called them, with the skin on for the mashing.

The meat patty should be tenderized using one of those tenderizing hammers. Beat the living carp out of it.

Leftover CFS makes a great breakfast, scramble a couple of eggs and eat along side with the white cream gravy. Good eating man.

Should probably mention this, I know I’ve been getting no questions on this, but the CFS should overlap the edges of the plate. It needs to be big.

Just enjoyed a CFS with mashed taters with skin and white cream gravy, and broccoli rice casserole, man it was good. For dessert, split a serving of raspberry cobbler and vanilla ice cream, man it was outstanding. And, our cute young waitress had a nice tushy. Tipped her well.
