If you hire a plumber to install a bidet, do you think he puts his naked [censored] on your toilet seat to adjust the direction of the water jet? I just put a new one in and that is what I did to get it right. I’m not sure how else to do it.

If he is alone in the house, I suspect you are right. It’s the only way to calibrate the water stream.
