I taught an adult man how to fillet the monster perch his kids caught today. It was kind of an odd feeling, yet satisfying. He was thankful, I was kind of embarrassed for him, but he gave me beer. I think he appreciated it and I have made a friend. I guess it was a good thing and I hope moments of kindness like this keeps me from going to hell because of all the other bad stuff I do.

You taught him to go ahead and clean the bluegill while its flopping?

Is that cruel? My Dad taught me to cut the spinal cord behind the head if they were still alive b4 filleting them. Like put them out fast.

If they flip, that just means they are fresh

Heck yeah, stick the knife in their eye socket. That will teach them not to flop on the table.
