Last night tournament of August coming up!! Be there or be square, as the saying goes! Come on out and join up. Heads up, as of right now I am planning on moving the last two night events of the year (In September) back to 7 till 2. This event will still be 8 till 3 however. The fees are $50 ($10 to Big Bass and $40 to a 1-5 payback, more than 25 entries will pay 6 places no matter what) and an optional $10 Side Pot, heaviest sack wins all.
5 fish limit, 12" minimum, one dead fish allowed, Big Bass must be alive. I will be watching fish mortality this summer, if we start seeing a lot of dead fish we will reduce the limit to 3 fish instead of 5.
No live bait
All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp. Please remember the launch fee is a Bartow County fee and not a CoE launch fee, there is a booth at the park entrance now with an attendant, you pay for the day or buy an annual pass.

Well, it started out with some pretty nice weather then the rains came. Some parts just got a moderate rain and other parts of the lake got hammered pretty good as reported by a couple of the anglers! It was over after a short while and things settled down. Apparently the fish didn't mind as there were quite a few sacks brought in and we even had some good quality with an average of 1.61 lbs per fish. We had 30 paid entries, 57 anglers weighing 105 Fish for a total of 169.32 lbs for an average of 1.61 lbs per fish. Big fish was largemouth for 4.36 lbs. Here are the money spots: 6th place went to Cody and Blake with 5 fish for 9.10 lbs and $60 5th place was Kris and Monty with 5 fish for 9.21 lbs for $120 4th place went to Rick and Danny with 5 fish for 9.fish for 9.24 lbs for $204 3rd place was Brian Cox with 5 fish for 9.63 lbs and $240 2nd place was Wayman and Dwayne with 5 fish for 10.28 lbs and $276 1st place was Jarrod and Mike D. with 5 fish for 11.18 lbs and Big Bass with a large-jaw for 4.36 lbs. They got the trifecta with $300 for 1st, $300 for Big Bass and $310 for the side pot!!! WTG guys!
Next month we have our last two night time events for the season, Sep 12, and Sep 26. These two will be back to the earlier times of 7 PM till 2 AM. Keep an eye on the Trackers in the GFF and in the Allatoona Tournament Group on FB.
