Last event for July 2020 coming this Saturday. Come on out and join us!!
The tournament will run from 8 PM (instead of 7 PM) till 3 AM (instead of 2 AM). I will be there around 6:30 PM, it is our hope that you will arrive 6:30 or later to allow the parking lot to clear out a little bit and not add to the chaos that was there already! Please monitor us here and on the Facebook page for Allatoona Tournament group.
The fees are $50 ($10 to Big Bass and $40 to a 1-5 payback, more than 25 entries will pay 6 places no matter what) and an optional $10 Side Pot, heaviest sack wins all.
5 fish limit, 12" minimum, one dead fish allowed, Big Bass must be alive. I will be watching fish mortality this summer, if we start seeing a lot of dead fish we will reduce the limit to 3 fish instead of 5.
No live bait
All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp. Please remember the launch fee is a Bartow County fee and not a CoE launch fee, there is a booth at the park entrance now with an attendant, you pay for the day or buy an annual pass.

Just before we got there, heavy rain moved across the lake and through Bartow County. Another wave of rain came through areas after the tournament start. That pretty much cleared the lake of the pleasure boat traffic and made for a quiet and smooth water evening on the lake. I suspect the weather may have kept a number of anglers off the water as well since our participation was down by almost 50%. We had 25 paid entries and a total of 27 boats. Nine boats did not weigh fish. The rest of us brought in 86 bass for a total of 127.71 lbs (an average of 1.49 lbs per fish). There were 6 largemouth bass weighed including the Big Bass @ 4.40 lbs. Here's how the money paid out, from bottom up: 5th place went to Chris and Jamey with 5 fish for 8.30 lbs for $75, They also won the $100 donation from Tow Boat US for highest finishing Tow Boat member!! 4th place was Brian and Greg with 5 fish for 8.89 lbs and $113, these two are becoming regulars when it comes to getting paid! 3rd place went Nick and Zach T. with 5 fish for 9.79 lbs, for $150, They are also frequent money winners! 2nd place was Scott A. and Jeff G with 5 fish for 10.43 lbs for $187, Yep, they are also regulars in the money not only in Porko's but several of our weekly venues as well! They also had Big Bass honors with the 4.50 lb largemouth for $250 1st place went to Gary F. and Mark with 5 fish for 11.49 lbs and $225 for first and $270 in the side pot. At our last event on July 7th they had a 4th place finish with 12.25 lbs. I guess that makes them frequent winners also! Congratulations to all of the money winners! When I grow up I want to be able to catch bigger fish like these guys do so often!! As long as I have been putting on tournaments I remained humbled by the consistency of some of our anglers, and envious!! See Ya'll on August 8, 2020!!
