Beginning with this event and for the foreseeable future we will run the tournament from 8 PM (instead of 7 PM) till 3 AM (instead of 2 AM). I will be there around 6:30 PM, it is our hope that you will arrive 6:30 or later to allow the parking lot to clear out a little bit and not add to the chaos that was there already! Please monitor us here and on the Facebook page for Allatoona Tournament group.
The fees are $50 ($10 to Big Bass and $40 to a 1-5 payback, more than 25 entries will pay 6 places no matter what) and an optional $10 Side Pot, heaviest sack wins all.
5 fish limit, 12" minimum, one dead fish allowed, Big Bass must be alive. I will be watching fish mortality this summer, if we start seeing a lot of dead fish we will reduce the limit to 3 fish instead of 5.
No live bait
All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp. Please remember the launch fee is a Bartow County fee and not a CoE launch fee, there is a booth at the park entrance now with an attendant, you pay for the day or buy an annual pass.

The rain was stopping as we arrived at the ramp and it never rained the rest of the evening. I believe that 8-3 option was better for the parking situation, but the rain helped a lot as well. The Lake was fairly calm last night. We ended up 41 boats plus mine, we paid 40 boat due one Boat compensated for services to the Porko Tournaments. There were 111 fish weighed for 184.64 lbs (an average of 1.66 lbs per fish). 5 large-mouths weighed in with one of those being our Big Bass at 5.65 lbs. We paid six places and here are those who managed to get some of that money: 6th place went to Riley and Trevor with 5 fish for 9.03 lbs for $80 (Greg and Brian, sorry for the mix up, tks for patience) 5th place was Stan and Dakota with 5 fish for 9.68 lbs and an envelope with $160 (Good seeing Dakota again, visiting us from Texas!) 4th place went to Mike D. and Jarrod who had 5 fish for 10.47 lbs and $272! 3rd place was Steven, Brandon and Chris with 5 fish for 11.08 lbs and $320 (great job, guys! Always in the HUNT) 2nd place Chris M and Dakota B with a nice sack of fish for 11.76 lbs and $368 1st place went to Scott F. and Griz (I love that name!!) with 5 fish for a great summertime sack at 12.41 lbs, and Big Bass with a 5.65 lb large-mouth (our lake biologist, Jim Hakala, will be happy to see this!). Their total winnings? $400 for first, $400 for Big Bass and $420 for the Side Pot! I could see their pearly white teeth glowing in the dark this morning!! Congrats to all of the money spots and thanks to everyone who came out last night. The next event will be after the 4th of July weekend on July 11th. Hunker down because the long range forecast appears to have lots of rain!
