Well it looks like we might be getting a brief break in the rain this week. After Monday's soaker the rain has stopped and we should be dry all the way through Sunday! Hallelujah! They are pulling the lake down at a steady rate right now and Gatewood has opened back up from a report I got today (Tuesday). I say it's time to get back out there before we get a severe case of cabin fever! Come and join us this Sunday! Fees are unchanged, $20 to the tournament which includes a $5 Big Bass, and a 1-5 payback (6 places after 25 no matter how many) and a $10 side pot (optional but everyone gets in it!). Rules are simple: you decide individual/team/how many in the team, 3 fish limit per entry, 1 dead fish allowed and Big Bass must be alive, no live bait and be courteous and friendly. Most of all, HAVE FUN! The park manager wanted me to remind you guys that this is not a COE ramp and the COE passes will not work here. Please either get an envelope and put your money in the box down by the ramp on the right, or get the Bartow County launch pass ($5 a day or $40 for the annual). All events are 1PM till 5PM until the daylight savings time shift in March then we finish out at 1PM till 6PM. All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp

Pretty nice afternoon with temps in the mid 60s and light and variable wind, water temps from 48 to 51 degrees (in the places I fished). The main lake was pretty dirty and still high, the creeks are cleaner (considerably!) and I hoping the rain this week doesn't mess all that up again! We had 28 paid entries for a total of 53 anglers. the total number of fish was 52 for a total weight of 78.1 lbs (avg 1.5 lbs per fish). No largemouth bass were weighed today! Big Bass weighed 2.59 lbs. Here are the money spots today: 6th place went to Scott and Michael with 3 fish for 5.67 lbs and $21 5th place was Ivan and Joe with 3 fish for 5.68 lbs and $42 they also had big bass with a spot that weighed 2.59 lbs for $140 4th place went to Check and Joe with 3 fish for 6.11 lbs and $71 (that Croft magic is holding on there!) 3rd place was Thad and Kelly with 3 fish for 6.16 lbs and $84 2nd place was Double D (D squared!!) Torelli! with 3 fish for 6.33 lbs and $97 1st place went to Scott (aka Dad) with Sam and Emma with 3 fish for 6.78 lbs for $105 first place money and $290 in the side pot!! Congrats to all the money spots and thanks to all of you who showed up today! It felt good to be back on the water again, lets hope we don't get any more suprises from Mother Nature!! Next Sunday we will celebrate Daylight Savings Time by fishing till 6 PM. Come on out and join us!!!
