We have made it to the last tournament in August. Just two more in September and we will be done until next year on the night tournaments. Come on out for the last three and let's finish it in a grand way!

The hours will be 7PM till 2AM, and all events will be held out Bartow County Gatewood Boat Ramp in Cartersville, GA. There will be a $50 entry fee ($10 to the Big Bass pot and $40 to a 1-5 payback, maximum 6 places), and an optional $10 side pot (winner take all on total weight). I have a 49 boat limit to avoid the $1million insurance cost. Even though we've come close a time or two we've never gone over that. I don't reserve spots in advance so get there early because if we ever reach 49 I will have to turn away anyone after that. The park launch fee is unchanged at $5 a launch or $40 annual pass (if you fish most of my Sunday Afternoons and Midnight Madness, the $40 is definitely more economical).
Rules?? yeah we do but only a few:
1. largemouth and spotted bass only, minimum 12", 5 bass limit, one dead fish allowed, but if weighing for Big Bass - Big Bass must be alive
2. Artificial baits only, no live bait (we tried it once and only one guy tried it for one trip, complained about the minnow bucket spilling on his carpet, end of that).
3. no rod length limits and trolling is allowed (not really a rule, I just put this in there because folks invariably ask me about it).
4. No alcohol during any of my events, ever. There is nothing more obnoxious or more dangerous than a drunk fisherman or boater. If I find out that you are doing it I will address it and my decision will be final. We just don't need it.
All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp
If the lot is full or the pay-box has no envelopes, just let me know and I will give you directions

Nice and comfortable when we started and still comfortable when it was done. Some folks may have gotten DRENCHED, but Stan and I stayed around Wilderness Camp Marina until it died down, got a few sprinkles and light rain, lots of wind and watched the thunder and lightning all around us. Water temps started in the mid to upper 80s and the lake looked like it was churned up pretty badly in places, boat wave slosh and wind drift mudlines every where! We had a good turnout last night with 31 paid entries (62 anglers), we missed a few of our regular participants but they are entitled to a night off (LOL). Fishing was pretty tough for a lot of us, in fact 14 boats did not weigh fish (I reckon they thought they wouldn't be able to compete? Some of the folks that didn't weigh fish normally do, and I suspect there were fish caught just not brought to the scales). When the smoke settled there were 18 limits weighed in, 90 fish for a total of 119.45lbs for an average of 1.33lbs (down a bit with smaller fish being the norm last night). Interestingly enough there were NO largemouth bass weighed last night at all.
Here is how the money paid out:
6th place went to Michael D. with 5 fish for 7.52lbs and $62
5th place was Kris Brown with 5 fish for 7.53lbs and $124
4th place was Lonnie and John with 5 fish for 7.77lbs and $211
3rd place went to Nick and Chandler with 5 fish for 7.98lbs and $248
2nd place was Steve and Todd with 5 fish for 9.32lbs for $285 and Big Bass with a 3.37lb spotted bass for $310
1st place went to Steven, Brandon and Chris with 5 fish for 9.48lbs for $310 and the side pot of $320!
Congratulations to the money spots!! It was good seeing you guys out there last night and I look forward to our next one. Remember!! Just two more night events in September then we take a month off and come back for the Sunday Afternoon events beginning the first Sunday in November! Be careful, especially on the Holiday weekend next week! We'll see you guys on September 7, 2019!
