They opened the dam back up and it would appear that they will go hard until the next torrential rain!! Yup,since yesterday morning they have dropped the lake a foot. Let's hope they leave enough water to launch boats this weekend because that would be about the only thing to keep us from having a tournament on Sunday. Keep track of this thread and we'll monitor it closely right up until the last minute. Just trust me when I tell you it takes a phenomenal event for me to cancel a tournament!
I put out a donation tub Sunday afternoon and it worked really well. So my plan is to leave it out for a month or so and we'll see how well it works? If it goes well we'll have some new scales early in 2019! Don't feel like you have to chip in, but it does help. Right now I am looking at a set that weighs up to 60 pounds with weight lock feature for about $549 to $600. Any help is always appreciated.

The tournament runs from 1PM till 5PM. I will be there around noon to start collecting entry fees. You can usually find me down in the handicap area by the ramp
$20 entry fee ($15 to a 1-5 payback, and $5 to Big Bass), and $10 optional side pot - Winner take all (total weight).
3 fish limit, one dead fish allowed. Big Bass must be alive to count. Team (no number restriction) or individual, you decide what works best for your boat. No live bait. Good sportsmanship and no alcohol during tournament. Pretty simple rules, huh?

All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp
If the lot is full or the pay-box has no envelopes, just let me know and I will give you directions

Overcast, cool with occasional sprinkles and little to no wind. The water was stained in the main lake with temps around 45 to 46 degrees. Really not a bad afternoon to be on the water!! In fact we had 21 entries again for 35 anglers, I noticed that only a couple of boats left early, but 16 boats weighed fish. We had 46 fish brought to the scales for a total of 91.93lbs (average 2.00lbs per fish), of those we had 8 largemouth weighed in including the Big Bass @ 5.06lbs.
5th place money of $32 went to Ronald H and Ray Nalls with 3 fish for 7.38lbs
4th place was $47 was Ricky Worthey and his compadre with 3 fish for 7.39lbs
3rd place for $63 went to Albert Little with 3 fish for 7.53lbs (nice consistency there, Albert. 3 weeks in the 7lb class)
2nd place at $79 went to Jeff Gravely with 3 fish for 8.95lbs
1st place went to Rick and Danny with 3 fish for 11.77lbs and Big Bass for 5.06lbs!!! Awesome job!! Their winnings were $94 for first, $220 Side-pot, and $105 for Big Bass!!

I would like wish you all a Merry Christmas. I hope and pray that is safe and enjoyable. We will be back out there next Sunday so we will hold the Happy New Year wishes till next weekend
! wink
