Looking at the long range forecast Sunday should be partly Cloudy and 55 degrees, after a week full of rain and temps in the forties. My bet is the water temp will be in the low to mid fifties and maybe a little higher this week (I am sure they will be pulling the lake like crazy this week). I certainly consider myself an optimist and believe that you aren't going to catch anything unless you have a hook in the water!! So come on out and get that hook in the water with us!! See you there!
The tournament runs from 1PM till 5PM. I will be there around noon to start collecting entry fees. You can usually find me down in the handicap area by the ramp
$20 entry fee ($15 to a 1-5 payback, and $5 to Big Bass), and $10 optional side pot - Winner take all (total weight).
3 fish limit, one dead fish allowed. Big Bass must be alive to count. Team (no number restriction) or individual, you decide what works best for your boat. No live bait. Good sportsmanship and no alcohol during tournament. Pretty simple rules, huh?

All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp
If the lot is full or the pay-box has no envelopes, just let me know and I will give you directions

The lake has come up over summer pool as of Thursday morning. That rise was over 6 1/2' since Sunday!

It was a beautiful afternoon to go fishing, the weather couldn't have been any better. The CoE and Georgia Power are pulling on the lake really hard right now to get it back down on track for the drawdown. It came up about 8' since last Sunday. The main lake was pretty clear with 59-61degrees most everywhere Stan and I went this afternoon.
Fishing was a bit harder for most of us, out of 44 anglers (23 paid entries) there were only 31 fish weighed in for a total of 43.61lbs. Not a single largemouth was brought to the scales this afternoon. Here's how it all went down for the money spots:
5th place went to Ken G. and Richard with 3 fish for 3.99lbs and $35
4th place was Goff and Steve with 3 fish for 4.01lbs and $52
3rd place went to Mike C. with 3 fish for 4.13lbs for $69
2nd place was Albert, Darren and Josh with 3 fish for 5.21lbs and $86
And first place went to Rick and Danny with monster sack at 8.88lbs for $103 and the Side Pot at $240. They also had Big Bass with a big old Spot that weighed 4.48lbs for $115!!!

Great job on a tough day!! Hopefully the lake will settle down to the normal draw down by next weekend and fishing will get better!! In the meanwhile enjoy your Thanksgiving!! Be safe and we'll see you next Sunday!!
