You all have been very patient, but the wait is over and it's time to get back out there! This Saturday, June 30th will be our next Porko event! I hope to see a good crowd this weekend, of tournament anglers!! So load up and join us. Remember you are not limited to two people, you determine how many people you want in your boat. one entry fee equals one limit of fish. you are allowed only one dead fish per limit (Big Bass must be alive). So if you want to load up the wife and kids, that's fine. Grandpa and the grandkids is fine too. Your regular fishing partner or solo, makes no difference to me. All I ask is that you be careful, safe, respectful and courteous.
We will be blasting off in order of sign up, remember not to jump the gun, go when your number is called. Try to position your boat to the side in which you intend to go (left, center or right). If a boat is entering the cove, let them in before you go.
Tournaments start at 7PM on Saturday evening and end at 2AM Sunday morning.
The rules are simple: 5 fish limit, minimum 12", 1 dead fish allowed, Big Bass must be alive. no live bait and no cast or gill nets (all fish caught on hook). no rod length limits and trolling is allowed. You determine if you are a team or fishing individual (you can only weight 5 fish per entry). Common courtesy and sportsmanship are fully expected, and no mind altering substances are allowed (alcohol or drugs) during the tournament (I didn't want to impose this rule but I have heard rumors and wanted to squelch any notion that I condone consumption during the tournaments).
The Entry fee is $50 ($10 to Big Bass, and $40 to a 1-5 payback, we pay 6 places from 25 entries to 49 entries, I cannot have more than 49 entries due to a $1million insurance requirement by the CoE).
I will normally be up by the restrooms at the top of the parking lot, if not, then look for me in the handicap parking by the ramp.
All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp
If the lot is full or the pay-box has no envelopes, just let me know and I will give you directions

First of all, I want to thank you guys for a perfect blast off yesterday evening! That was a gratifying to see how well that was done!
Hot start weather wise!! I think most of us were hunting shady areas to fish! for some of us fishing was pretty darned tough, amazingly though there are some folks that got on the fish pretty good last night (Humbling!). Out of 35 paid entries, 16 entries did not weigh fish! that is tough. The other boats brought 98 fish to the scales for a total of 168.38lbs (and average of 1.72lbs per fish). Of that total there were 13 largemouth bass weighed, included the Big Bass at 3.66lbs
6th place went to Scott and Jeff with 5 fish for 10.07lbs for $70
5th place was Scott and Ben with 5 fish for 10.24lbs and $140
4th place went to Gary and mark with 5 fish for 10.70lbs and $238
3rd place was Garret and Trent with 5 fish for 11.25lbs and Big Bass for 3.66lbs, they won $280 for third and Big Bass $350
2nd place was Rick and Danny had 5 fish for 12.62lbs for $322
1st and side pot went to Lonnie and John with 5 fish for 1381lbs, that was $350 for first and $360 for side pot!
Congrats to the money places, very impressive and very humbling!! I don't know how you guys do it!?
next event will be July 14, 2018, come on out!!
