This one will be Saturday Night on Memorial Day Weekend. You can probably count on a full parking lot. When that happens we can park on the side of the park road and even in the pavilion area of the park. This Saturday is the only holiday conflict I have on the schedule and sometimes you just juggle things the best way you can. Try to join us if you can!!

Tournaments start at 7PM on Saturday evening and end at 2AM Sunday morning.
The rules are simple: 5 fish limit, minimum 12", 1 dead fish allowed, Big Bass must be alive. no live bait and no cast or gill nets (all fish caught on hook). no rod length limits and trolling is allowed. You determine if you are a team or fishing individual (you can only weight 5 fish per entry). Common courtesy and sportsmanship are fully expected, and no mind altering substances are allowed (alcohol or drugs) during the tournament (I didn't want to impose this rule but I have heard rumors and wanted to squelch any notion that I condone consumption during the tournaments).
The Entry fee is $50 ($10 to Big Bass, and $40 to a 1-5 payback, we pay 6 places from 25 entries to 49 entries, I cannot have more than 49 entries due to a $1million insurance requirement by the CoE).
I will normally be up by the restrooms at the top of the parking lot, if not, then look for me in the handicap parking by the ramp.
All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp
If the lot is full or the pay-box has no envelopes, just let me know and I will give you directions

Well, the weatherman was wrong, in our favor this time!! the weather was really nice, light breeze, partly cloudy and bright moon. The holiday crowd left the lake as soon as it got dark and lake got friendly again!! Water temps are now in the low 80s, and even though we had only a couple of dead fish last night we cannot lower our guard. Thanks to Ricky and Brandon for taking the dead guys. I am sure they may have been a couple of fish that actually floated after a while, but the immediate released fish were swimming!
There were 31 boats including mine (30 paid entries) with 58 anglers fishing. Together we weighed 105 fish for a total of 186.31LBS (an average of 1.77lbs per fish). We paid 6 places, big Bass and a side pot last night, here are the money spots:
6th went to Scott and Ben with 5 fish for 10.06LBs for $60
5th place was Scott and Lance with 5 fish for 10.20LBS and $120
4th went to Mike M. and Jarrod with 5 fish for 10.41LBS for $204
3rd place was Daniel and Trent with 5 fish for 10.50LBS for $240
2nd place went Wally and I (Porko) with 5 fish for 11.24LBS for $276
1st place went to Michel P. and Brian with 5 fish for 14.59, and Big Bass with a spotted bass weighing 4.72LBS! The total for first, Big Bass and the Side Pot was $910!! (awesome job, guys!)
At this time It appears that I will have to take the night off to help my wife on June 9th since she should be coming home from her Knee replacement surgery. I have several people lined up to run the event so we won't have to cancel it. Come on out and hopefully I will be able to make the second June event. It was great seeing you folks last night!
