Here we go!!! Lets get the season off to a grand start, come and join us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tournaments start at 7PM on Saturday evening and end at 2AM Sunday morning. The rules are simple: 5 fish limit, minimum 12", 1 dead fish allowed, Big Bass must be alive. no live bait and no cast or gill nets (all fish caught on hook). no rod length limits and trolling is allowed. You determine if you are a team or fishing individual (you can only weight 5 fish per entry). Common courtesy and sportsmanship are fully expected, and no mind altering substances are allowed (alcohol or drugs) during the tournament (I didn't want to impose this rule but I have heard rumors and wanted to squelch any notion that I condone consumption during the tournaments). The Entry fee is $50 ($10 to Big Bass, and $40 to a 1-5 payback, we pay 6 places from 25 entries to 49 entries, I cannot have more than 49 entries due to a $1million insurance requirement by the CoE). I will normally be up by the restrooms at the top of the parking lot, if not, then look for me in the handicap parking by the ramp. All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp If the lot is full or the pay-box has no envelopes, just let me know and I will give you directions

Well, the first Midnight Madness of 2018 started out hot and sweaty with the lake frothing from pleasure boaters. The day shift had the parking lot pretty full, but we managed to get 32 trucks and trailers in there with them! There were 59 anglers weighing 135 fish for a total weight of 237.29lbs (and average of 1.76lbs per fish). We paid six places, Big Bass and the Side Pot. Here are the money winners: Fat Rat and Terry with 12.29lbs for 1st $310 and the side pot of $320 Smooth and T had second place with 12.13lbs for $285 Rick and Danny had third with 11.67lbs for $248 Daniel and Trent had fourth with 11.30lbs for $211 Ricky and Braindin had fifth with 10.66lbs and $124 Chris M. and Jeff had sixth with 10.32lbs and $62 Mike M. and Jarred had the big bass with a 3.20lb LMB for $310
Our next event will be on May 26th. Ya'll come and join us. I know, I know, that's Memorial Day weekend!! Yes it is and we'll have fun at the ramp for sure!! AS always, it will work out, fortunately Bartow County will allow us to park in the Gatewood recreation area if we need it.
