It's spring and time to enjoy a full day on the water!! The fish are getting ready to spawn, in fact some are already are spawning. Other fish are active and the fishing is fantastic right now!! We will be hosting our annual Spring ritual on Saturday, April 14th, 2018 out of Gatewood Boat Ramp, Bartow County. I will be there around 5:30AM to take entry fees, and we will be blasting off at safe light (around 7AM), and fishing until 3:30PM.
There will be a $50 entry fee ($10 Big Bass pot, $40 to a 1-5 payback, 25 entries to 49 entries will be 6 places regardless. I am limited to 49 boats due to a CoE insurance requirement of $1 million for events of 50 entries or more.), and an optional $10 side pot (heaviest creel takes all).
This is not a mandatory team event, you can apply that entry to each member of the boat or fish it as a team (team is however many people you want to have in the boat as longs as your legal with the state)
There is a 5 fish limit, minimum 12" length, 1 dead fish allowed with no penalty.
Big Bass MUST be alive.
no rod length limits, trolling is allowed, no cast nets or gill nets, fish must be caught by hook
no live bait
no alcohol, or mind altering substances, are allowed during the tournament (what you do afterwards is your business)
Above all, courtesy and good sportsmanship always expected. I do not impose the 100' rule officially between competitors because I expect common courtesy among the anglers that fish my tournaments. Besides, I hope that friends are still friends while fishing the event and enjoy some down time on the water when you see someone you would like to say howdy to!!
I will either be at the top of the hill up by the restrooms or down at the handicap parking to collect entry fees.
Directions: All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp
If the lot is full or the pay-box has no envelopes, just let me know and I will give you directions

This tournament ranks as one of the best ones I have ever hosted. That had to be the most amazing weigh in we've had on Allatoona. We had 36 boats today with a total of 70 anglers, weighing 160 fish, with 39 of those being largemouth bass. The total weight was 356.59lbs, a 2.2lb average per fish. The two biggest largemouth weighed 7.25lbs and 7.70lbs! here are the money spots:
6th place went to Justin and Brandon P. with 5 fissh for 11.70lbs for $70,
5th place was Hunter and Joey with 5 fish for 12.16lbs and $140.
4th place went to Albert and Darren with 5 fish for 12.50lbs and $238.
3rd place was Ed and Michael with 5 fish for 12.99 and $280.
2nd place went to Kevin B with 5 fish for 15.92lbs and $322
1st place went to Matt G and Eric N with 5 fish for 18.71 and $350, also had the side pot for $340. Matt and Eric also had a 7.25lb Largemouth, but that Big Bass ultimately gave way to a 7.70lb bass brought in by Kevin Bagley. who won the Big Bass pot of $350. Like I said, it was amazing
