It's supposed to rain Sunday morning, but here's hoping it's gone by the time we start. The bite has been pretty darned good the last few weeks and I am hoping it only gets better. We haven't seen bonified monsters yet, but are seeing some really good fish!! Come on out and get ya some of it!!
As always, $20 entry ($5 to big bass and $15 to the 1-5 payback), and optional $10 side pot (winner take all, heavy creel). Fish as team or individual, team is however many you want (as many as your boat will legally carry, or just two, your choice), there is a 3 fish limit per entry. 1 dead fish allowed and Big Bass must be alive. All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp If the lot is full or the pay-box has no envelopes, just let me know and I will give you directions

It was another soggy Sunday Afternoon, no hard rain just off and on drizzle and light showers. Temps were moderate and the winds weren't bad. The water ranged from 54 to 51 degrees depending on where you were. The water color was dingy in areas and clearing in the back of the creeks. We had 21 boats including mine, with 36 anglers weighing 51 fish for a total of 110.78lbs, and Big Bass was a 4.10lb spot. The average was an impressive 2.17lbs per fish (that's respectable on a lot more popular lakes than our Allatoona!) There were 5 largemouth bass weighed (Jim Hakala, it looks like the spots are still the dominant species!) We paid 4 places, Big Bass and the side pot today, here are the numbers: 4th was Wayne, with 3 fish for 7.41lbs and $30 3rd place was Tim and Dusty with 3 fish for 7.74lbs and $60 2nd went to Ryan and Chad (the Triton twins) with 3 fish for 8.15lbs and $90 1st went to Nick T. and his partner, Zack. They had 3 fish for 10.04lbs, Big Bass was 4.10lbs. They were rewarded with $120 for First, $100 for Big Bass and the side pot of $200. Awesome job, folks!
We will be back out there next Sunday so get on out there and join us!
