Well, let's try it again!! I don't want to mention the long range forecast just yet! We will be there and hopefully enough of you folks will join us to make it worthwhile! 1-5PM on Sunday at Gatewood in Bartow County. $20 entry ($15 to the creel and $5 to Big Bass, less than five entries will be 100% winner take all)and the side pot for $10. I am usually there around noon to collect entry fees. Come on out!! All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp If the lot is full or the pay-box has no envelopes, just let me know and I will give you directions

It started out with a very fine mist in the air, pretty much calm all afternoon, temps in the 40s and overcast. Water temp was pretty much 41 to 41 and a half every where we went, McCaskey was stained and the main lake was still pretty clear. Some of the guys went up stream an I don't really know what they saw up there. We had a better turn out today, in spite of the NFL parties I see on Facebook. 12 paid entries, 19 anglers. There were 15 fish weighed for a total of 27.5lbs (average of 1.83lbs per fish), 4 of those were largemouth. here are the money spots: Third place went to Lonnie and John with 2 fish for 4.14lbs and $38 Second place went to Rick and Danny with 3 fish for 4.44lbs and $54 First went to Eric R. with 3 fish for 7.03lbs, he took $90 for first and $130 for the side pot Jason M. and Tom F. had Big Bass with a 3.08lb Largemouth that was good for $60
The lake is back up enough that both ramps are open again at Gatewood. Hopefully the weather will get the fish moving a bit better next weekend. Come on and join us, more folks on the water should generate more fish (ya think?)
