Those of us that put on Tournaments out of Gatewood will have to obtain a CoE permit (15 events for $50), that will have to be ramp specific with dates and times. The CoE will coordinate those dates with Gatewood (Bartow County). On top of that, the County manager of the parks and recreation department has stated that he will only allow 2 tournaments a month out of Gatewood (regardless of season, regardless of weeknights, regardless of anything. They will be charging $5 boat launch fees this year, the senior pass being the exception.
I will have to evaluate which dates I will be having tournaments and get my permits. The biggest impact for the Porko events is the winter series, Sunday afternoons.

we need to find out what us as fishermen/tournament fishermen can do about this. do they have a county meeting or something that can be attended, to protest these RULES against the very people that support this county by being the dedicated sportsmen that we are. the pleasure users don't even touch the revenue that we as sportsmen put into the economy just by fishing this lake!!

No they don't have county meetings, they depend on one guy to make those decisions. It's not a real good deal. I been at the COE office this afternoon and worked a deal with them. If the county stands hardfast on the 2 events a month rule, the COE will let me have every other Sunday out of the Blockhouse ramp through the end of March.

Only allow 2 tournaments a month out of Gatewood. This will be a big impact for the all events, series trail on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Going to be a big headache for Tournament Directors.

He was called into Steve's office this week for something related to the ramp, not sure, but I can only guess. The result is that we tournament directors only have to pay for the CoE permit and no longer get a permit from the county, but he added the 2 event per month stipulation when he did away with the permit. Sounds like he may be a bit upset after meeting with Steve. I have another call into him and hopefully he will call me Tuesday. With any luck and I can point out the mistake to him without ticking him off any more.
