Two more to go for this season. The next one is this coming Saturday, Sep 9, 2017 and the last night even for the season is on Sep 23, 2017. I sure hope to see you guys at Both of them. I know I know, Dove hunting, and college foot ball games! The heck with that, come on out and fish instead!!! The same deal as always, I will be there between 5:30 and 6 to collect entry fees. Those fees are unchanged for years now. $50 to the tournament and $10 to the side pot. You determine what you entry covers, individual or team (you decide the size of your team, two, three , four, I don't care. You can only weigh five fish for each entry fee). Start time is 7PM (+/- a few minutes depending on who is doing the blast off). Weigh-in is 2AM, you must be inside the no-wake buoy and rods down to be on time. Come on out and join us, sleep in a little later on Sunday and go to the evening service!! All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp If the lot is full or the paybox has no envelopes, just let me know and I will give you directions

Last night started out a with a little breeze, almost clear skies with nice and comfortable temps in the 70s. Water temps were around 77 degrees and still pretty clear with 3-4' visibility most places we saw. As the night wore on the wind picked up a little more, but it was still manageable. I must admit that I was delightfully surprised with the turnout. I was expecting this one to be low with the UGA/Notre Dame game, first day of bow season and a host of other things going on. WE managed to have 30 paid entries (31 boats with mine), a total of 59 anglers! They brought 95 fish to the scales for a total weight o 167.69lbs (an average of 1.77lbs per fish)! Big Bass honors went to another spotted bass, at 4.04lbs. There was another Big Bass at 4.03lbs that held the lead for a while (.01lbs, that is close!!)
Well here are the money spots from last's night event:
6th place went to Carty and Vence with 5 fish for 9.44lbs for $60 (Folks usually focus on the #1 place every week, but these two guys very frequently grab some of that money!)
5th place was Derrick and Chuck with 5 fish for 9.97lbs and $120 (that pretty red Bullet Boat seems to be working pretty good!)
4th place was Fat Rat and Mr. "T" with 5 fish for 10.40lbs and $204 (sorry about your championship on the same night as our last Midnight Madness tournament for this season! (I reckon we need to share our schedules next year!)
3rd place went to Michael D. and Scott with 5 fish for 13.07lbs for $240 and they also had the Big Bass with a 4.04lb Spotted bass for $300!
2nd place went to Jeff and Mike with 5 fish for 13.93lbs and $276 (great job!! sorry Jeff S. and Mike C., not you guys)
1st place went to the Legend Mike Morris and his trusty side kick, Jarrod! They had a walk away weight of 14.42lbs!!! That was good for $300 for 1st and $310 side pot, they missed Big Bass by the .01lbs with a 4.03lb spotted bass (that would've been another $300!). An absolutely awesome job!!
On September 23, 2017 we wrap another season for the Porko's Midnight Madness series. For those of you who are fishing the Victoria Championship, we will miss you!! Hopefully, we will get another great turnout and end this season on a high note!! Come on out and be a part of it!!
