This year is moving quickly (way too fast for an old man like me). Our first madness event for July 2017 is upon us. Hopefully we'll get a good crowd out there this weekend and see some great mid summer sacks!! If the lot isn't too full I will collect at the top of the hill, but I could be down at the handicap parking by the ramp, if you don't see me at one place check the other. As always, $50 to the tournament ($10 to Big Bass and $40 to a 1-5 payback, 6 places after 25 entries regardless), and a $10 optional side pot (Winner take all, total weight). I will be there around 5:30-6:00 PM with blast off at 7PM (normally the last entry gets to blast everyone off). Weigh in will be 2:00 AM. You must be inside the no wake buoys and rods down, if there is a long line to load don't worry, we will get your fish weighed. Come on out and join us!! All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp If the lot is full or the paybox has no envelopes, just let me know and I will give you directions.

More Rain!! Depending on where you went immediately after we blasted off you either got some rain, or a LOT of rain. Stan and I stayed near Gatewood and got some rain, but it really wasn't that bad. I got more water in my boat from a pleasure boater at the ramp! We were backing down and they almost hit my boat, then gunned it hard to keep from hitting me, literally swamping the back of my boat in the process! What a circus we saw at the ramp once you guys were gone! It settled down to be a nice evening, a little bit heavy on the dew, but pleasant no less. We had 38 paid entries with a total of 74 anglers last night. Out of 39 boats (including mine) there were 14 boats that did not bring fish to the scales. I heard that a number of them had fish but didn't think their fish would compete and simply released them. Those that did weigh in brought 123 fish to the scales for a total of 227.39lbs (an average of 1.85lbs!! that's a really good average!!). Tonight also saw a lot more Largemouth bass being weighed in, @ 17 fish! We paid 6 places, Big Bass and a Side Pot last night, totally $2290 awarded. Here are the folks that topped the heap: 6th place went to Brian and Michael K. with 5 fish for 10.11lbs for $76 5th place was Michel and Lonnie with 5 fish for 10.12lbs and $152 4th place was Scott and Jeff with 5 fish for 11.48lbs for $258, they also had Big Bass with a LMB weighing 4.27lbs for $380 3rd place was Vence and Carty with 5 fish for 12.61lbs for $304 2nd place was Robert and Larry with 5 fish for 12.72lbs for $350 1st place (yes Danny T., you should have come out and gotten a share of this money!! lol) went to Daniel and Trent who won it easily with 5 fish for 15.42lbs for $380 and side pot of $390. They didn't get the big bass pot but this was a well balanced creel with good spotted bass and largemouth! WTG Daniel and Trent!! We'll be back out there on July 22ndf or another mid-summer run at it. Who knows? Maybe it won't rain on us that night!!
