This coming Saturday at Gatewood park in Bartow County. Safelight (around 7AM or 7:15AM) till 3:30 PM. $50 entry fee ($10 to Big Bass, $40 to a 1-5 payback-30 places or more will be 6 places regardless). There will also be an optional side pot of $10. Five fish limit per entry (you decide if it's a team or however you want it), 12" minimum length, 1 dead fish allowed, but Big Bass must be alive to compete for the pot. No live bait. Those who have fished with me over the years refer to these as "Porko Rules", intentionally simplified!! I will be there around 5:30Am and will probably go straight on down to the handicap parking and collect entry fees down there. All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp.

The morning started in the upper 30s with no wind and partly cloudy, Water was clear at Gatewood and in the upper 50s. We had 31 entries by 7 AM and the game was on!! The total number of anglers was 58 today. When the smoke cleared we weighed 145 fish for 282.97lbs!! That's an average of 1.95lbs per fish (not too shabby for a "dead sea"!). There were 11 largemouth bass weigh included the Big Bass at 4.21lbs. only three entries did not weigh fish today, everyone else weighed a limit of 5 fish with the lowest weight coming in a 7.25lbs. Here's are the money places: 6th place went to Richard S (1Kicker) and Hunter K. with 5 fish for 11.19lbs for $62!! 5th place was Josh and Matt Driver with 5 fish for 12.03lbs for $124 4th place was Brinson R. and Mike G. with 5 fish for 12.32lbs for $211, they also had Big Bass with a 4.21lb fish for $310 3rd place went to Craig Baker with 5 fish for 12.44lbs and $248 2nd place went to Taylor T and Zac B with 5 fish for 12.62lbs or $285 1st place went to Nick and Zack with 5 fish for 13.95bs and $310, and the side pot of $310 What an amazing day!! I enjoyed seeing all of you today and hope to see you on the first Midnight Madness of the season on May 13, 2017!!
