I cant believe it's March already! This season has literally flown by! The weather is getting right for the big girls to start showing up more regularly now. Who knows, you could be the one bringing her to the scales!! Come on out and enjoy this warm spring like weather with us All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp. We usually collect money at the top of the parking lot near the restrooms, but if I'm not there, I will be down by the boat ramp in one of the handicap spaces

Really nice afternoon with temps in the low 70s. The water is still pretty clear and warming up with temps 54-55 where we fished today. The wind was a little pesky at times, but still fishable. We had a great turn out with 30 paid entries for a total of 54 anglers. Together we brought only 45 fish to the scales for a total of 69.55lbs (avg 1.55 per fish), certainly we have seen better days as far as the numbers go! in fact there were 14 boats that did not bring a fish to the scales. Allatoona has a way of dealing you a tough hand on the second day following a major fishing event. There were at least two tournaments on Saturday and a lot of fun fishing, Then the Sunday morning crowd, and finally our Sunday Afternoon. That means the community holes got hit multiple of times!! Even having described the lake as tough today, there were still some money spots paid out and here's how it went: Jacob B and I managed 6th place today with 3 fish for 5.17lbs for $23 5th place went to Josh and Jacob Abernathy with 3 fish for 5.20lbs and Big Bass of 2.73lbs (I think Jacob is our smallest angler, and certainly one of my favorites!). They had $45 for 5th and $150 for Big Bass!! Way to go,GUYSS!! 4th place went to another father and son team Scott and Mason with 3 fish for 5.40 for $76 3rd place went to Dale B. and partner with 3 fish for 5.42lbs and $90 2nd place went to Jim and Joe C. with 3 fish for 5.47lbs and $104 1st place and the side pot went to Ryan and Chad with 3 fish for 6.01, that was worth $112 for first and $310 for the side pot!! I have already mentioned a couple of father/son teams, and we had more today as well Matt and Leon, Chris and sons, and a couple of wives today also (Welcome Babe and Lori!!). I love seeing these families out there and hope to see more with the stable weather!! We will be going to daylight savings time so the remaining tournaments will run until 6PM!
