The weather is about a month ahead of schedule, trees are leafing and blooming, the grass is greening up. The water should be warming up this week as well. I fully expect some more big bass t be brought to the scales this Sunday. Come on out and join us and see if you one of those that grin and snicker all the way to the scales with a big fish in that bag! All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp. We usually collect money at the top of the parking lot near the restrooms, but if I'm not there, I will be down by the boat ramp in one of the handicap spaces

Actually turned out to be a really nice afternoon. The wind slowly subsided and became variable through the afternoon. The temps were in the low 60s and the water temp started around 53 degrees and warmed to almost 56 in a couple of places we went. Water still remarkably clear for this time of year with visibility around 2-3 most places we fished. 19 boats out of 25 actually brought fish tot he scales. I suspect more folks caught fish, but decided not to bring them to the scales. When the smoke cleared, we had 44 anglers weighing 52 fish for a total of 96lbs, avg 1.85lbs per fish (not too shabby considering that all by 8 fish were spotted bass. We had another tie (Fatrat and Terry are becoming pros at tying other teams!! lol), 4th place went to Fatrat/Terry and also to Vann/Harris, each with 3 fish for 6.19lbs for $45. 3rd place went to Jeff and Scott with 3 fish for 6.52lbs for $72 2nd place went to Jarrod and Billy with 3 fish for 7.05lbs for $90 1st place went to Rick and Danny with 3 fish for 7.61lbs and Big bass of 3.64lbs (LMB), they got $108 for First, $240 for Side pot and $120 for Big Bass. Great afternoon surrounded by some really great people. I am tired, but enjoyed it. Hope ya'll did too!
