The long range forecast for this coming Sunday is starting out around 29/20 and warming up to a balmy 49 degree with mostly cloudy skies! That's closer to normal for this time of year. As of today the lake is already back up to 828, 3 feet higher than it was on Sunday afternoon. I suspect it may rise a little more before this weekend. I would also guess that we will see some stained water this weekend, if not in the back of the creeks, probably starting to come out to the main lake. I would bet the water temps will be in the mid 50 degree range. The fishing should be pretty good. We will see you guys out there hopefully!!
1:00PM till 5PM. $20 entry covers $5 Big Bass and 1 in 5 payback. Also a $10 side pot (optional). It will be fun so come on out and join us!
All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp. We usually collect money at the top of the parking lot near the restrooms, but if I'm not there, I will be down by the boat ramp in one of the handicap spaces

The wind blew around 15-20MPH all afternoon, it was mostly cloudy and actually sleeted on us this afternoon. I am not sure but it felt as though the temps dropped through the afternoon. It was 44 when I left the lake around 5:40PM. The water temps were around 47 degrees and the water ranged from clear up in where we fished to heavily stained in the Allatoona side. The fishing was pretty decent for most of the boats with only seven boats not weighing fish. The overall quality of the fish were pretty good too!
We had 35 anglers in 20 boats, there were 36 fish weighed for a total of 78.72lbs (average of 2.19lbs per fish). Congrats to Nick and Mark with a 4.56 spotted bass, Ken and Mike almost took Big Bass honors but the scales stopped at 4.55lbs!
We had 19 paid entries today, so we paid 4 places, Big Bass and a side pot, here's how it went:
Jacob and I had 4th place with 3 fish for 6.77lbs and $29
Nick and Mark had 3rd place with 3 fish for 9.03lbs for $57 and Big Bass of 4.56lbs and $95
Ken and Mike took 2nd place honors with 3 fish for 9.12lbs and $85
Chad and Ryan got first place with 3 fish for 9.15lbs for $114 and a side pot worth $190!!!
Next Sunday is Superbowl Sunday, so come on out and get your fishing done in time for the game! that would make for a great day!! See you then!
