Partying on New Year's Eve??? sleep in on Sunday Morning, New Year's day and come on out and fish with us Sunday Afternoon from 1PM till 5PM. WE are a go right now!. Gatewood is down to one ramp now due to the lake level so be sure to allow for time to launch, no problem beaching your boat right now. I will be down there about noon (12). hope to see you guys!
All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp. We usually collect money at the top of the parking lot near the restrooms, but if I'm not there, I will be down by the boat ramp in one of the handicap spaces

Our first tournament of 2017 is DONE! It was Cloudy, damp and chilly. Water temps were around 48-49 degrees and pretty darned clear everywhere we went. WE had 11 boat including mine, with 20 folks weighing in 20 fish for a total of 34.51lbs (an average of 1.73lbs per fish). There was only one largemouth weighed in today.
We only paid two places today with Big Bass and a side pot. here's how it paid out:
Second place was Mike C. and Ken H. with 3 fish for 5.72lbs for $60
First place went to Brad and Verta with 3 fish for 6.51lbs for $90 and side pot of $110
Big Bass went to Tim and Dusty with a spot weighing 2.55lbs for $50We are on "Ramp Watch" now. If the CoE drops the lake anymore there is a strong likelihood that Gatewood will close until it comes back above the line on the ramp. I will keeping an eye on it this week and letting you guys know if it happens.

Here's hoping you guys have a safe first week of 2017, and we will do it again next week, ramp allowing.
