We will be there with the weather forecast? Yep! Going to be there and hopefully enough of you will join us to make it worthwhile! It's that time of year and you can expect it to be nasty from time to time. If we reach 12:45 and only have 3-5 boats, I will ask you if you want to have the event and proceed from there. I have a reputation for shutting it down only when the ramp is completely hazardous, closed or superceded by another major event. That only happens about once or twice a year. I would never try to pressure anyone to doing something they are uncomfortable with. that is one of the reason that we do not have a championship and encourage you to fish only the ones you want to fish.

All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp. We usually collect money at the top of the parking lot near the restrooms, but if I'm not there, I will be down by the boat ramp in one of the handicap spaces

Well done, ye brave souls! I signed them up, went home to my toasty office and came back to weigh them in! We had 8 boats, 12 anglers and every boat weighed fish today. That was a bunch of haggard looking guys, cold and wet to say the least!! When it was all over we weighed 23 fish for a total of 40.29lbs (average 1.75lbs per fish), and a 3.61lb spot for Big Bass. There were only two places paid today and the young guns ran away with the cash!
2nd place went to Stephen and Chase with 3 fish for 6.30lbs and $48
1st place went to Garrett S. with 3 fish for 8.99lbs (awesome!) and Big Bass with 3.61lbs (he had another one almost as big!). Garrett won $72 for first, and $40 for Big Bass and the side pot of $80. WTG, Young Man!!

Next Sunday we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, so we will not be out there. We will be returning on New Year's Day to get this year kicked off on the right foot (be sure and eat some black eyed peas at midnight to get your good luck going for the new year!!).
We are finally down to one lane at Gatewood with the water below the line and dropping. I am hoping they pull it all the way down this year, but you just can't predict what the CoE will do for certain
