Today I had a trip on Weiss Lake with a gentleman that wanted to learn a few patterns to use when the Fall temps "actually" start to come in. The fish on Weiss were very aggressive but still have not made that move up into the shallows just yet, but with the temps finally cooling down it shouldn't be long until that lake turns "wide open". The lake is down a lot and the water temps range in the low 70's, so it won't be long until it just gets plain ole "FUN"! We mainly stayed with main lake points with Echo Crankbaits by Rat-L-Trap and just covered a lot of water and was able to catch a lot of numbers of small to quality fish, but it was still a lot of fun and the action was consistent. We tried a few shallow pockets around docks and stumps with Choo Choo Lures Shakers and was able to get a few fish with this pattern but with the fish not moving in just yet we went back to the crankbaits and got back to having some fun. This is great lake to fish during the fall and winter months and the action can be fast and aggressive, but it can also be extremely dangerous to navigate with the water being down so low so be prepared to use extreme caution. Get out and have some fun. Mike Carter [Linked Image]
