Well it went by fast this year! We are already on the season finale. Hard to believe isn't it? Oh well, let's make it a good one and get a great crowd to finish it up with!
$60 will get you in everything $40 to a 1-5 payback, $10 Big Bass pot (Big Bass must be alive), $10 for an optional side pot!
All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp. We usually collect money at the top of the parking lot near the restrooms, but if I'm not there, I will be down by the boat ramp in one of the handicap spaces

Well, we didn't go out with a bang, but we still had a decent turnout with 23 paid entries. The weather was nice and the lake was too after the pleasure boater crowd quieted down. The hard part of fishing last night was being at the end of September and the water temps were still in the low 80s! I sure hope we see some cooling soon. I don't even think the lake is near a turnover yet! The lake drawdown is underway and you can see a significant drop already, be careful out there because the reef markers in some places are going to soon be marking "islands".
Anyway, There will always be someone to take the money home and here's the winners from last night:
5th place went to David and Kevin with 5 fish for 7.94lbs and $92
4th place was Chris and Brian with 5 fish for 8.42bs and $138lbs
3rd place went to Dane and Antonio with 5 fish for 8.62lbs for $184
2nd place went to Terry W. (minus Fatrat) with 5 fish for 9.16lbs and $230
1st place, Big Bass and the side Pot was a clean sweep for Gary F. with 5 fish for 11.48lbs and BB was 3.63lb spotted bass. Gary got $276 for First, $230 for Big Bass and $240 for the side pot!! WTG, Mr. Retiree!
I will be goofing off and fishing one club tournament in October. Then in November we kick it off with the "Toys for Tots Tournament" on November 5th (at Gatewood) and then start the Sunday Afternoon events on November 6. We'll go every Sunday through the end of March!
