Last event for August coming up this weekend!! If you haven't been out there with us, here's your opportunity!! Hopefully, all of the regulars will be there and we can bust the 40 boat mark!! $60 will get you in everything $40 to a 1-5 payback, $10 Big Bass pot (Big Bass must be alive), $10 for an optional side pot! All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp. We usually collect money at the top of the parking lot near the restrooms, but if I'm not there, I will be down by the boat ramp in one of the handicap spaces.

Weather turned out to pretty nice yesterday evening and into the night. Water clarity looked like it was a little clearer than last weekend, the temps ranging in the upper 80s on top. The thermocline wasn't really defined last night, but most of the baitfish and fish activity seemed to be about 25' and above. We had another good turnout with 33 paid entries (34 boats including mine). A total of 63 anglers. When I closed the scales we had 102 fish weighed in for a total of 165.02lbs. Not a bad weigh in for a late August tournament! It took a weight of 9.49lbs to get he 6th place pay-out, but even with that there were still a lot good limits weighed. When it's all done someone will take some money home and here's how that went last night; 6th place went to John and Lonnie with 5 fish for 9.49lbs and $66 5th place went to Scott and Griz with 5 fish for 9.54lbs and $132 4th place was Jarrod and Billy with 5 fish for 9.90lbs and $224 3rd place went to Chad W. and Craig with 5 fish for 10.47lbs and $264 2nd place went to Vince and Carty with 5 fish for 13.24lbs (all spotted bass) for $304, they also had Big Bass with a monster spot that weighed 5.82lbs for $330! 1st place went to Scott and Jeff (who apparently gave everybody a chance to catch their breath the last time, then rebounded tonight!!) 5 fish for 13.42lbs for $330 and a side pot of $340 A big congrats to all of the money winners!! We are going into September and our last two night events of the season (September 10th and September 24th), after taking the month of October off, we will come back in November to kick off the winter season with Porko's Sunday Afternoons. On November 5th, we will have the second annual Toys for Tots Tournament. This year is shaping up to have a lot good raffle and door prizes, Jeff Kornow will be there again selling his Curly Q's Bar-B-Que (love that smoked meatloaf sandwich!). Come on and join all the fun!
