Wow, this week almost got away from me! Busy, maybe too busy would best describe how it's going. Just want to throw out this reminder that we have a Porko event this Saturday night so come on out and join us!!

All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp. We usually collect money at the top of the parking lot near the restrooms.

Overcast skies, temps in the 80s and water temps around 86 to 87 degrees, water clear to about 4' with the boat chop. We had about 1/2" of rain yesterday afternoon and that made for a muggy feeling at the start and a heavy dew over night. We had 27 paid entries on this event with a total of 54 anglers slugging it out last night. There were 12 boats that did not weigh any fish, in fact I think several of those actually left early. Fishing was tough for quite a few folks, but the humbling part about these events is that there are always some folks who know where the fish are and how to put them in the live-well!

We paid six places, Big Bass and a Side Pot last night and here's how that went down:

6th plc went to Dustin and Adam with 5 fish for 8.23lbs and $54,

5th plc was Chuck and Derrick with 5 fish for 8.41lbs and $108

4th plc went to Scott and jeff with 5 fish for 9.95lbs and $184

3rd plc went to Tim and Dusty with 5 fish for 10.37lbs and $216

2nd went to Daniel and Trent with 5 fish for 10.63lbs and $248

1st was Tom and David with 5 fish for 15.77lbs for $270, Big Bass of 5.01 (Spotted) for $270 and the side pot for $280. That was one heckuva sack of fish in the face of so many folks that struggled last night! WTG, fellas!

The next one will be August 13, 2016. Hopefully, we will see a whole lot more of you out there!! Until then, we will talk it up and get some smack talk going!
