Alright, Scott and Jeff, I reckon I can count on seeing you guys this Saturday, along with Gary and Mark, maybe Daniel, Bill P and Chad and all of the regulars. What I really hope to see is a full parking lot of folks out there Saturday night! The long range forecast is for zero % chance of rain following a really hot (95d) day on Saturday. So stay inside and get a good nap then come on out and enjoy a nice night of fishing!
All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp. We usually collect money at the top of the parking lot near the restrooms.

Summer is here and so are the pleasure boaters! The parking lot was full and the remaining daylight hours had boats going in every direction and some of them going in circles!! Things quickly calmed down after dark and it turned out to be a pretty nice night on the water. I think the fishing was tougher last night and there must have been a number of folks who thought the same thing. I noticed a number of people releasing their fish rather than weighing them in. I can understand how people assess their creel and decide whether it will win anything or not, but I sure wish you would go ahead and let me weigh them in and tally the spots vs LMB. Jim Hakalla (state biologist) is using this data (and other data) as a basis for his stocking program on the lake and every fish caught helps in that decision. We had 40 boats last night (including our boat) and there were 18 boats that didn't weigh anything. Those that did brought 105 fish to the scales for a total of 167.96lbs (avg 1.60lbs per fish). There were only 6 LMB brought to the scales and the Big Bass was a spotted bass weighing 4.23lbs

We paid six places, Big Bass and a side pot last night for a total of $2350. here are the money spots and what they had to place:

6th place went to Bob and Stan with 5 fish for 8.04lbs and $78

5th place went to Jarrod and Vince with 5 fish for 8.67lbs and $156

4th place was Lyle and Todd with 5 fish for 9.40lbs and $265

3rd place went to Sonny and Jamey with 5 fish for 10.18lbs and $312

2nd place went to Scott and Jeff with 5 fish for 10.70lbs and $359 (these guys have been in the money on all of the first three events this season!)

1st place went to Daniel T. and Trent with 5 fish for 11.59lbs for $390 and $400 side pot, and Big Bass with the 4.23lbs fish for another $390 (total of $1180!!)

I enjoyed everyone out there tonight and I promise to improve the weigh in process. I will come up with something that will make controlling those fish a little easier! first thing I am going to do is get back on the parking a lot a bit better! Having that one fish jump out of the tub and make a clean get-a-way all to the water, really got to me. If anybody has any suggestions I would like to hear them.
