Hope you guys are ready!!? It's time to get this summer season rolling. Saturday night, 7PM till 2AM (Sunday morning). Same entry, Big Bass and side pot as last year..$40 entry (1 in 5 payback, 6 places 30 and over no matter what), $10 Big Bass (must be alive), and $10 side pot (optional winner take all, total weight). I will collect the money at the top of the hill near the restrooms. Come on out and join us!!
All tournaments are held out of Bartow County Gatewood Park: Exit GA-20 exit on I-75 and turn east, Turn south at the light (right from I-75, left from Canton) next to Wendy's onto Spur 20. Go about 2 miles and turn left on Jim Knight Rd., Turn left when it dead ends at the Bartow Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE maintenance yard). Stay on the Beach road and stay to the left past the park Manager's house and follow the signs to the left to the boat ramp. We usually collect money at the top of the parking lot near the restrooms.

What started out as a warm Windy evening quickly turned into a cold windy night! Well it felt that way to me! lol. I believe the wind may have kept a few folks off the water yesterday evening, we still ended up with 27 paid entries, a total of 54 anglers braved the wind and cold and fished through it all. The results were pretty impressive, 109 fish weighing 187.94lbs were brought to the scales (I have knowledge of a couple of boats that had limits but did not weigh them since they figured they were not good enough for a check). There were 28 boats including mine, out of that number only 6 boats did not weigh fish. There were 11 largemouth bass weighed last night with several over 5 lbs, there were some pretty large spotted bass brought to the scales also, so the big fish bite is good right now. Big Bass was 6.53lbs (sorry the pictures did not come out well enough to post them due to my camera batteries almost dead).

Here's how the money paid out last night:

Goff and I had 5 fish for 9.35lbs for sixth place and $54

Rick and Danny had 5 fish for 10.44lbs at fifth place with $108 (they also had a largemouth that went 5.53lbs!)

Gary F. and Mark had 5 fish for 10.64lbs at fourth place for $184.

John G. and Lonnie had 5 fish for 12.12lbs for third place for $216

Fatrat and Jarred had 5 fish for 13.70lbs for second place and $248

Scott and Jeff whacked them with 5 fish for 16.65lbs for first at $270, side pot of $280, and that 6.53lb LMB for Big Bass and $270 (nice payday!!)

I really enjoyed seeing my night crowd back in action and actually got to meet a few new folks too!! I think the next couple of events are going to be even larger, and hopefully the weather will give us a break! We'll see ya'll on May 28, 2016 at Gatewood!!
