Alrighty, The lake is starting to stabilize a little bit now and water temps are starting slowly come up. That spells pre-spawn and early spawners. With a good stretch of nice weather we could see some heavy sacks over the next few weeks! Ya'll come on out and help us find them!

From I-75 North or South, Take Exit 290 (Cartersville/GA20 Exit) Travel East on GA 20 approximately 500 feet and take a right on GA Spur 20 (Between Kangaroo Grocery and Wendy's), travel approximately 3 miles and take a left on Bartow County Beach Road (the Corps signs no longer exist, so look for the small Gatewood Ramp sign)or turn left on Jim Knight Rd. and go till it dead-ends to Bartow County Beach Rd and turn left. Travel to the end of Bartow County Beach Road and the ramp will be on your left

The weather was just about as good as you could ask for in Early March! Almost no wind, temps in the mid 60s, with high wispy clouds and blue skies. Water was ranging from 51 to almost 57 in the places that Wally and I fished with stained to pretty darned clear (in the very back of McKaskey). There was a pretty good crowd out there with us today, 34 paid entries for 66 anglers weighing in a total of 52 fish for 73.42lbs (an average of 1.41lbs, up from 1.29lbs last week). We didn't see the monsters that the ABA saw yesterday (one over 8lbs to Brent Tullis). In fact today's top six was separated, top to bottom, by a hair more than a pound. here are the top six spots today:
6th place went to Brinson and Ryan with 3 fish for 4.74lbs for $26, (sorry Dakota and Jessica but you got bumped out by .01lbs)
5th place went to Tom and Ken with 3 fish for 4.87lbs for $51
4th place was Steve and Stephen with 3 fish for 4.91lbs and $87
3rd place went to Larry and Elliot with 3 fish for 5.23lbs and $102
2nd place was Jarrod and Billy with 3 fish for 5.30lbs and $117
1st place went to MISTER Gary Fowler with 3 fish for 5.84lbs and Big Bass of 2.88lbs (Spotted). His winnings were $127 for first, $170 for Big Bass and $330 for the side pot, not too shabby for four hours of fishing!!

We are down to the last two Sunday Afternoons of this season. Hope to see you guys out there, let's do it with a bang and set some new records for participation!
