The weather is looking a lot warmer for this coming weekend with 67 degree temps, cloudy and WNW wind at 6mph, SOUNDS PRETTY GOOD! From I-75 North or South, Take Exit 290 (Cartersville/GA20 Exit) Travel East on GA 20 approximately 500 feet and take a right on GA Spur 20 (Between Kangaroo Grocery and Wendy's), travel approximately 3 miles and take a left on Bartow County Beach Road (the Corps signs no longer exist, so look for the small Gatewood Ramp sign)or turn left on Jim Knight Rd. and go till it dead-ends to Bartow County Beach Rd and turn left. Travel to the end of Bartow County Beach Road and the ramp will be on your left Come on out!!

Overcast, a little on the breezy side with moderate temps in the 60s (nice for a change), Showers started a little after 3PM and was pretty sporadic the rest of the day. It did give us a break and let us get the weigh in done before it started again. Stan and I fished from Gatewood to Clear Creek, the lake was stained but not a heavy stain. we saw water temps from 49 to 51 degrees. Saw a flock of Herons heading north so I imaging that spring is almost upon us!
We had 19 paid entries with a total of 37 anglers going at it today. There were only 28 fish brought to the scales for a total of 51.48lbs. Out of 20 boats, 9 of them did not weigh fish. Only one largemouth was weighed today, but it was a dandy at 7.92lbs.
We paid 4 places, Big Bass and a side pot, here's how that went down:
4th place was Steven and Joe C with 3 fish for 5.18lbs and $29
3rd place was Allan and Bug with 3 fish for 5.63lbs and $57
2nd place went to Mike G. and Brinson with 3 fish for 5.67lbs and $85 (Rumor has it that Mike loaned Brinson a spool of 8lb. flouro that Brinson tied a jig on and through by hand since he left his rods in Tom's boat! I don't know this for a fact, just what I heard! I could be wrong?).
1st place went to Brett Hasty and Mario with a total of 13.28lbs (WOW!!) and a 7.92 largemouth for an anchor fish!!! Just plain awesome! They won $114 for first, $95 for Big Bass and the side pot for $190! Too bad today wasn't one of those 30 plus boat events!! Great job guys!
We will be back out again next Sunday afternoon, Next Sunday is looking like a partly cloudy high around 60 degree day (that's a full week away, it could change).
Enjoy the pics!
