The Lake Guntersville Rat-L-Trap Tournament is just a couple of days away and with the flooded waters again, and a minor cold front that we have going on right now you would think that would mean the fish are just "locked up"! Well I would have to admit that I thought it would be the same also. I finally got the opportunity to get out and enjoy some "Trappin" after finishing hunting season and our trip to Ky. for the Louisville Boat and RV Show and was really expecting a slow day ahead of me."BUT", this is the "Big-G" and it can be full of surprises at times, and today was one of those times. The water is high and once again there is a lot of current but the fish are still hungry and when you present a "Big Rat-L-Trap" in the right area and the right time, "Hold On"! Man there just aint nuthin like a "Big-G Hawg" engulfing a Rat-L-Trap and start peeling line, what a feeling. I was able to get fish to hit on grass lines in 5-7ft. and also 8-10ft. The weather is looking better for the weekend and the tournament this Sunday should be a great one with a lot of good bags of fish being brought to the scales. Hope to see you there! Get out and have fun. Mike Carter
