Ya'll need to come on out and join us this weekend. Weather looks nice, with temps back down in the 50s where they should be this time of year. They are still pulling pretty hard on the lake trying to get it back down to the drawdown level. From the historical graph it would appear that they might stop at about 825' MSL (2' higher than the lowest pool level). If they do go that far we will likely be operating with one ramp only. Most of us are used to that every year and it really doesn't cause that much of a problem. Come on out and see what the afternoon's can produce, you just might be pleasantly surprised! From I-75 North or South, Take Exit 290 (Cartersville/GA20 Exit) Travel East on GA 20 approximately 500 feet and take a right on GA Spur 20 (Between Kangaroo Grocery and Wendy's), travel approximately 3 miles and take a left on Bartow County Beach Road (the Corps signs no longer exist, so look for the small Gatewood Ramp sign)or turn left on Jim Knight Rd. and go till it dead-ends to Bartow County Beach Rd and turn left. Travel to the end of Bartow County Beach Road and the ramp will be on your left

High "Bluebird skies" NNW winds upwards of 15 mph, maybe even 20 at times, temps in the low fifties (felt colder!) Lake is getting a little clearer each week, with water temps in the 47-48 degree range. I am beginning feel a little more than just humbled at these weigh-ins! Brandon and I struggled to boat one fish today (same with Wally and I last week)! Out of 23 paid entries, 24 boats in all, 7 boats did not weigh a fish (yeah we threw ours back!). When it was all over 17 boats brought in 48 fish for a total of 80.74lbs (an average of 1.68lbs per fish). There were 47 anglers out there today even though it was Super Bowl Sunday (I've been watching it, and now it's Half-time!). We paid five places, Big Bass and a side pot today, so here is how it went down: 5th place went to Joe C and Steven B. with 3 fish for 5.65lbs and $35 4th place went to Scott and Jake with 3 fish for 6.01lbs and $52 3rd place was Mike G had 3 fish for 6.23lbs and $69 2nd place went to Corey and Tony with 3 fish for 7.37lbs and $86 1st place went to Ricky and Telica with e NICE fish for 9.01lbs, for $103 for 1st, $240 side pot and the 4.96lbs LMB netted a $115 reward for Big Bass. Awesome job, Guys!
I enjoyed having my buddy Skillet out there with me today and apologize for a lousy guide job! LOL! We had fun anyway and I look forward to future fishing days with him! We will see ya'll out there next Sunday! BE safe and stay warm (going to be a chilly week or so).
