Come on out, this weekend is not going to feel like winter! so those of you who have been hunkering down and trying to avoid getting out in the cold, here's your opportunity!! We will be out there too, so you may as well plunk down that chump change and fish the tournament!!

From I-75 North or South, Take Exit 290 (Cartersville/GA20 Exit) Travel East on GA 20 approximately 500 feet and take a right on GA Spur 20 (Between Kangaroo Grocery and Wendy's), travel approximately 3 miles and take a left on Bartow County Beach Road (the Corps signs no longer exist, so look for the small Gatewood Ramp sign)or turn left on Jim Knight Rd. and go till it dead-ends to Bartow County Beach Rd and turn left. Travel to the end of Bartow County Beach Road and the ramp will be on your left

Partly Cloudy to mostly cloudy at time, south wind blowing pretty good for most of the day, temps in the mid 60s. Water temps 46 to 48 degrees in all the places we fished today. The water color and clarity is slowly coming around. The lake is coming down pretty fast right now, the rate is about 1' a day and we are just about 10' under summer pool. If they go all the way to winter pool that will most likely occur next weekend, so we may have to keep an eye on the boat ramp (open or closed).
We had 32 paid entries today with 59 anglers weighing on 33 fish for a total of 61.38lbs. It was a matter of tougher than tough for many of us (21 boats not weighing any fish!), but there are always someone who will find them, some find better than average fish and win tournaments!! lol! That was certainly the case today, here's who got the money:
6th plc went to John and Lonnie with 3 fish for 5.57lbs and $24
5th plc was Brandon and Patrick with 3 fish for 5.92lbs and $48
4th plc went to Dave and Chuck with 3 fish for 5.99lbs for $82
3rd plc went to Dakota and Jessica with 3 fish for 6.09lbs and $96
2nd plc went to Mike and buck with 3 fish for 6.11lbs for $110
1st plc was an absolute slam dunk for Joe and Steve with 3 fish for 11.09lbs and Big Bass with a big ol Largemouth for 6.76lbs!!! They collected $120 for first, $300 side pot, and $160 for Big Bass! Awesome job guys!

Big thanks to Keith and George for helping Dakota Jessica out today, and to the fellows who towed Dakota to Galts Ferry so that his dad could bring the truck and trailer around to load him up. As a post script to this story, Dakota put some gas in the boat and brought it back down to the ramp and it appears to be running now. Valuable lesson learned and thank goodness it wasn't a problem with the engine!

I was surprised because I thought today would be a slugfest, but that's the way it goes sometimes! If the CoE and Georgia Power doesn't pull us down below the ramp this week we will definitely hit it again next Sunday. So keep your eyes and ears open! Until then, please have a safe work week!

It wasn't any better for Wally and I either. I caught one and broke one off on a hookset (drag was too tight), We might have gotten two other bites. It's always humbling to me to weigh those fish in that other folks have caught and find out that some of them reported catching more than 20 fish! All you can say is 'What the heck" or "HOW".
