Who's going to be there?? Weather is shaping up to be nice. The ABA cancelled their event on Saturday so I know there's going to be tournament anxious anglers out there! Come on out Sunday afternoon and get it out of your system for a week! We'll be there! Any newbies that interested in joining us? The tournament is $20 ($5 for Big Bass and $15 for a 1-5 payback) and a $10 Winner take all side pot (based on total weight). 12" min, one dead fish allowed and Big Bass must be alive. The only other rule is no live bait. That entry is your decision whether it's team (if you want to fill your boat with a whole bunch of folks and call it a "team", that's ok, you still can only weigh 3 fish per entry), or individual, you can only weigh 3 fish per entry.
From I-75 North or South, Take Exit 290 (Cartersville/GA20 Exit) Travel East on GA 20 approximately 500 feet and take a right on GA Spur 20 (Between Kangaroo Grocery and Wendy's), travel approximately 3 miles and take a left on Bartow County Beach Road (the Corps signs no longer exist, so look for the small Gatewood Ramp sign)or turn left on Jim Knight Rd. and go till it dead-ends to Bartow County Beach Rd and turn left. Travel to the end of Bartow County Beach Road and the ramp will be on your left

After all the bad weather we have had, this afternoon was a pretty a welcome change. it was still on the cool side but the wind was cooperative and the fish cooperated for a number of folks. The lake still has a pretty good stain for the most part, I believe the Allatoona Creek side is probably better though. Water temps are finally coming down with 46-48 degree water in the main lake and one report of 41 degree water up around Knox bridge.
We ended up with 27 paid entries, 28 boats including mine. There were a total of 54 anglers today. 16 boats weighed 42 fish for a total of 81.35lbs (an average of 1.93lbs per fish). There 6 places, Big Bass and a side pot paid out today and here is how it went down:
6th place went to Stan and myself with 3 fish for 5.45lbs and $20
5th place went to Kevin and Jamie with 3 fish for 5.64lbs for $41
4th place was Steve and Darren with 3 fish for 6.01lbs and $69
3rd place was Brent and Mark with 3 fish for 8.09lbs and $81
2nd place was Ricky and Mike with 3 fish for 8.59lbs and $93
1st place was Alex and Russell with 3 fish for 8.60lbs (wow! .01lbs separating 1st and 2nd) for $101, and the Side pot of $270, AND Big Bass with a 3.61 spot that was worth $135. Congrats guys! that's $506 paycheck for 4 hours of fun!
I am always amazed at the quality of fish that come to the scales each week. Some teams manage to bring in quality fish and simply humble the rest of us! That's what keeps me coming back out, trying to figure out how to find the quality and quantity.

This coming weekend has a wonderful forecast for this time of year with temps in the mid 60s. Hopefully, we will see you guys back out there enjoying that weather! I enjoyed it and look forward to next weekend!
