Moving quickly through December it seems! already on our second event of the month and the unusually warm weather seems to be hanging with us! No rain in the forecast means we will likely see a significant drop in the lake level this week. That might be slowed a bit since there is still significant runoff in the Oostanaula river system, but be rest assured the CoE will try to hit their goal of bringing the lake to it's normal winter pool (-17'). Anyway, the weather should be good enough to bring more folks next weekend. We are seeing lots of family this year, which is a great trend in my book! I also like seeing all of our regulars out there too! Let's just keep the good times rolling! From I-75 North or South, Take Exit 290 (Cartersville/GA20 Exit) Travel East on GA 20 approximately 500 feet and take a right on GA Spur 20 (Between Kangaroo Grocery and Wendy's), travel approximately 3 miles and take a left on Bartow County Beach Road (the Corps signs no longer exist, so look for the small Gatewood Ramp sign)or turn left on Jim Knight Rd. and go till it dead-ends to Bartow County Beach Rd and turn left. Travel to the end of Bartow County Beach Road and the ramp will be on your left

This weather is strange! I was fishing in short pants this afternoon! The wind was pretty steady generally out of the south about 15mph most of the afternoon with temps in 60s and partly cloudy. The water temp actually came up to 61 from last week, and the lake was at 829" MSL (a full 6' lower than last weekend). We had another great turnout today with 38 paid entries, 39 boats if you include mine.74 anglers brining 63 fish to the scales with a 101.28lb total weight and a 1.61lb. average. Here's are the money spots
6th place went to Jake and Dave with 3 fish for 5.55lbs and $29.
5th place went to Tim, Mike and Andrew with 3 fish for 5.96 and $57
4th place went to Susan, Sean and Russ with 3 fish for 6.04lbs and $97
3rd place was Pat and Brandon with 3 fish for 6.27lbs and $114
2nd place went to Joe C. (don't know where Jim was today?) with 3 fish for 6.37lbs and $131, and Big Bass with a 3.62lb LMB for $190
1st place went to Payne and Payne (newcomers) with 3 fish for 7.01lbs and $142, and the side pot for $390!! Nice haul!
I am simply amazed at the participation this year, and thankful that so many folks are having a good time with us this year. This is a 100% payback event and the only thing I get out of this is the enjoyment of seeing you guys win a little money (and us too every great while), and enjoying visiting with all of you. I am extremely pleased with the family participation this year! The little folks and mom every now and again make this even more fun!
Looking forward to the next Sunday and seeing all of you.
