Yup! We are definitely fishing this Sunday. You folks might have to loosen the belt a little after eating all that Thanksgiving Day feast, and hope the motor will handle the extra weight! That's alright though, come on our and get a little exercise by swinging the hookset on a few fish Sunday (be sure and bring the results to the weigh-in!. See ya out there! From I-75 North or South, Take Exit 290 (Cartersville/GA20 Exit) Travel East on GA 20 approximately 500 feet and take a right on GA Spur 20 (Between Kangaroo Grocery and Wendy's), travel approximately 3 miles and take a left on Bartow County Beach Road (the Corps signs no longer exist, so look for the small Gatewood Ramp sign)or turn left on Jim Knight Rd. and go till it dead-ends to Bartow County Beach Rd and turn left. Travel to the end of Bartow County Beach Road and the ramp will be on your left

Overcast, warm and virtually NO wind, with Water temps from 59 to 61 degrees. I dressed in short pants and a t-shirt today and was not cold at all! Some folks put on their rain-suits anticipating rain that never developed. I guess a lot of other folks thought it was a good afternoon to fish a tournament too. We had 46 paid entries with a total of 85 anglers! There were 78 fish brought to the scales for a total weight of 113.387lbs, of those there were only 5 largemouth bass weighed. We paid six places, Big Bass and a side pot, here's how it paid out!
6th place went to Timmy & Andrew with 3 fish for 5.34lbs and $35
5th place went to Steven and Deron with 3 fish for 5.40lbs and $69
4th place was your's truly and Wally with 3 fish for 5.59lbs for $117 and Big Bass with a 3.56lb spot for $230
3rd place was Chief and Jim with 3 fish for 5.86lbs for $138
2nd went to Daniel and Trent with 3 fish for 6.05lbs for $159
1st place was Brinson and Ben with 3 fish for 6.73lbs for $172.00, and the $430 side pot.
The weigh in went very smoothly and we also saw some new faces. Hopefully we will keep this trend going with more great turnouts. The other trend we have going is a whole bunch of young folks fishing with their dads and dad like folks! I thoroughly enjoy having the kids out there and they look like they really enjoy the whole experience! This is great reminder that the Sunday Afternoon Tournaments are a great venue for the whole family. You determine if your entry is for a single entry or a team, and you decide what that team consists of, 2 or even more!
See ya'll next Sunday!!
