There are times to do a fishing report and there are times that a report is just not enough, so this time we will just talk about the trips from last night and today and the meaning they carried with them. Last night I had the honor to take out 3 Gentlemen that wanted to catch a few Weiss Lake Spots, but mostly this trip was about a recent reunion of 2 Vietnam War Vetrans that had went 44 yrs. without any contact after becoming friends in a fox hole and surviving some hard experiences and hard times in the War. The other Gentleman that had planned the trip had spent some time with one of them through his time in the war at a later time and had become very good friends, so this to him was somewhat a reunion also, and when you throw in a few good hard fighting Spotted Bass to go along with some of the stories they had to tell it created one fantastic night of fishing for 2 Vietnam Vets and one Afganastan Vet. To these Gentlemen, I/we appreciated everything you guys had to go through and what you did, THANK YOU! This morning I had another trip that also had a special meaning, but in a different way. A Dad and his son wanted a morning and a night trip on Guntersville to fish together for the first time in not just a long time but also to enjoy that his son is even able to fish due to a major vehicle accident back in the spring. With all of the major injuries the young man sustained in this accident that he was even able to fish was a blessing not only for himself but also especially for his Father. So with this young man being able to catch a nice "Guntersville HAWG" really set off some exciting emotions for these 2 Gentlemen and made the start of a great time together and also for his son to have first bragging rights on who had the biggest "Hawg" on their trip. These were two very special trips that in my words deserved more than just a fishing report, but the experience that was involved. Get out and have fun. MIke Carter [Linked Image]
