The First August event is this coming Saturday, come one out and join us, the fishing has been pretty decent for quite a few folks (some of us are fluctuating wildly! LOL!). I will be at Gatewood about 6PM to collect entry fees and the tournament will blast off at 7PM (last guy there gets to blast everyone else off, by boat number). Entry fee is $40 for a 1-5 payback, 30 entries or more will pay 6 places regardless. $10 Big Bass, and a $10 optional side pot (winner take all). All total is $60. 5 fish limit, min 12" spots and largemouths, 1 dead fish allowed, Big Bass MUST be alive to compete for that pot.
North, exit 290, go east on GA-20 about 300’ and turn right on SPUR 20 by the Wendy’s fast food restaurant, Go about 2 ˝ miles to Jim Knight Rd on the left. Follow Jim Knight until it dead ends at the Bartow County Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE equipment yard and shop entrance). Turn left and follow the road to the park, bear left in front of the Park Managers residence, then left again at the split in the road. You will see the restrooms and the parking lot. I am almost always parked at the top of the hill adjacent to the non-boater parking area in front of the restrooms. Easy enough to find me because we usually have a crowd of folks gathered around swapping stories and having a good time!

Guys, as a reminder, I run a clean tournament and fun tournament. Please do not do anything to disrupt that. I heard of an episode at my last event that involved an altercation about fishing brushpiles. I have my opinions about brushpiles and will gladly share them with you if you ask me at the ramp. Just don't take your opinions to a confrontational level at my events.

I am humbled once more! lol! Or should I say that I am always in a state of "Awe" when I weigh these fish in? Stan and I struggled last night and we figured everyone must be suffering a similar night, and I imagine a number of you might have been since 16 boats didn't even bring fish to the scales. When you look at these totals, they were caught by the other 16 (boats). We had 31 paid entries (plus our boat) last night for a total 61 anglers. There were 73 fish weighed for a total of 135.5lbs (avg. 1.86lbs). Big Bass was another largemouth weighing 7.17lbs, only 3 largemouth were weighed (the other two weighed 3.28lbs and 3.72lbs). The largest spotted bass of the night was 4.57lbs, there were a number 2-3lbs spots weighed in.
We paid 6 places last night and a side pot, here are the money spots;
6th place went to Brian and Doyle with 5 fish for 8.36lbs for $62
5th place was Danny T. and Ricky "One Rod" with 5 fish for 9.09lbs and $124
4th place went to Sonny and Jamey with 5 fish for 11.28lbs, for $211
3rd place was Justin and Joseph M. with 5 good fish for 12.04lbs and $248
2nd place went to Bill P. and Chad with another good sack of fish weighing 13.38lbs for $285, They also had Big Bass (3rd time in a row) with a largemouth weighing 7.17lbs, good for $310. This team is one of the most consistent teams I have witnessed in my events!
1st place went to Tom and David with 5 really nice fish for 15.52lbs, for $310, and side pot of $310

Yes, folks, there are some decent largemouth in Allatoona! Here's Bill and Chad with another pig

We will be back out there again on Aug 22,2015, so come on out and join us!
