The weather is warming up and that makes night fishing a better option! I know I am much more comfortable after the sun goes down. Besides all of the sunworshipers, wake boarders and cruisers eventually settle down for the evening and the lake gets really nice! We had a real good turn out last time and I hope to see that many or more this Saturday. Come on out and join us, the entry fee is still $50 ($10 for Big bass and $40 for a 1-5 payback up to 30 entries, then it's 6 places regardless). There is also a $10 winner take all side pot. It's lots of fun with plenty of opportunities to win money to Mama shopping or enough to stop at Waffle House on the way home!
I heard of one incident that appears to have involved one of our boats on our last event. Now I don't have many rules, and don't feel like I need to create more, but I want to remind everyone who fishes my events that you are ambassadors for tournament competitors, you set the public opinion for our sport. I do not care to hear any more stories of how someone came in on top of another angler, anywhere on the lake, and intimidates them to leave a spot by threatening them, claiming that you fish that spot every night or whatever the case may be. If someone is fishing a particular spot that you like, MOVE ON and come back later after they leave. I will not hesitate to ban unsportsmanlike conduct from fishing my events if I am convinced beyond a reasonable doubt of someone conducting themselves in a way that not conducive to good sportsmanship. That behavior is bad for all of us.
Now that we got that information out there, let's get together and have a little fun.
Here's how you get there: North, exit 290, go east on GA-20 about 300’ and turn right on SPUR 20 by the Wendy’s fast food restaurant, Go about 2 ˝ miles to Jim Knight Rd on the left. Follow Jim Knight until it dead ends at the Bartow County Beach Rd. (right in front of the COE equipment yard and shop entrance). Turn left and follow the road to the park, bear left in front of the Park Managers residence, then left again at the split in the road. You will see the restrooms and the parking lot. I am almost always parked at the top of the hill adjacent to the non-boater parking area in front of the restrooms. Easy enough to find me because we usually have a crowd of folks gathered around swapping stories and having a good time

Great turnout and awesome weigh-in! We had 39 paid entries with a total of 79 anglers out there last night! The number of fish brought to the scales was 114 for a total of 190.27lbs, 22 of which were largemouth bass. Ironically, the big bass was not a largemouth but a behemoth spotted bass at 5.56lbs (congrats to Bill P. and Chad for that monster). It took a 10.87lb sack of fish to get a 6th place payday and 15.15lbs to win it, those are good stats on any lake this time of year. It's that time of year, where the big boats are out, and out late into the night and driving light they were jet skis! On that note I just want to remind all of you that are fishing my tournaments to PLEASE wear your lie jackets when running. Wally and I overtook one yacht last night only to be confronted with an even bigger on-coming yacht/cigarette boat that sent us airborne (and we weren't running hard either). It can be very dangerous out there at night and just because you may consider yourself an excellent boater doesn't mean that all of the other boaters out there are too. Be safer, life jackets and kill switches will save you and your partner's life! As always, there are money winners and here's how it paid out last night (this morning! lol): 6th place went to Chuck and Derrick with 5 fish for 10.87lbs and $78 5th place was Bug B and Allen D. with 5 fish for 11.39lbs for $156 4th place went to Fat Rat and Terry with 5 fish for 11.53lbs and $265 3rd place went to Bill P. and Chad with 5 fish for 12.57lbs for $312 and Big Bass of 5.56lbs for $390! 2nd place was Tom and David (KAZ) with 5 fish for 13.52lbs for $359 1st place and side pot winners were Scott and Daryl with 5 fish for 15.15lbs, 1st netted $390 and the side pot was worth $400 (100% participation in the Side Pot, that's a first!). Congrats to all of the winners and I enjoyed seeing all of you out there!
In July we will only have one event on July 18th. Between the 4th of July weekend and commitments to the Cast-A-Way Bass Club, I was only able to get in one Porko event in July. There will be two events in August, Aug 1, and Aug 22
