Boy Howdy! January went by way too fast! This Sunday will be the first event of February already! Long range weather forecast, might be a little wet and on the cool side! What the heck it's only Monday and the weather predicting folks haven't been very accurate this winter. Unless the ramps and roads are iced over, we'll be out there fishing so ya'll are welcome to join us! Come on out!
From I-75 North or South, Take Exit 290 (Cartersville/GA20 Exit) Travel East on GA 20 approximately 500 feet and take a right on GA Spur 20 (Between Kangaroo Grocery and Wendy's), travel approximately 3 miles and take a left on Bartow County Beach Road (the Corps signs no longer exist, so look for the small Gatewood Ramp sign)or turn left on Jim Knight Rd. and go till it dead-ends to Bartow County Beach Rd and turn left. Travel to the end of Bartow County Beach Road and the ramp will be on your left

Well, at least the wind didn't blow! We did have a steady rain for the better part of the afternoon with some chilly temps to go along with it. The main lake from about Clear Creek to the dam still had a pretty heavy stain, but the creeks and the lake above Bethany Bridge are showing signs of clearing. The water temps ranged from 45 to 47 degrees every where Tom and I went today.
Participation was down today, maybe because of the weather, or maybe being Super Bowl Sunday, who knows? We had 8 boats including us for a total of 13 anglers. Only four boats brought fish to the scales for a total of 11 fish for a total weight of 19.08lbs.
We only paid two places this evening. Here's go the money:
Second place went to Jim and Joe with 3 fish for 6.70lb, they also had Big Bass honors of 3.79lbs. They won $48 for second and $40 for Big Bass
First place went to Rick and Mike with 3 fish for 6.77lbs, They came away with $72 for first and an $80 side pot!
Congrats to you guys.
Hopefully we will have better weather and better showing next Sunday! See you folks out there!
