DID THE CALCUTTA FALLWe had 8 boats and 12 anglers battling out the Cast-A-Way Bass Club NWGA event on Lake Jackson yesterday. Temps started around 26 degrees, warmed pretty nicely, but the wind kicked in by 9 to 10:00AM and never let up! It howled down there all day. The water temp ranged from 46 degrees to 50 degrees (by late afternoon in a few very protected pockets). The water clarity was about as good as I have ever seen in the Rocky Cr area. Every place else had the normal Jackson stain, with the heavier stain being where the Yellow River comes in.
The only "pattern" that I heard was from Monty who through a KVD jerkbait on rocky banks from the dam to the Alcovy Bridge. I also had a limit primarily with giggy head/finesse worms Watermelon Candy and Black, with only one fish on C-rig Chartreuse Pepper Grande Bass Rattlesnake, but all my fish came from a wide variety of places and structure.
We paid three places and Big Bass yesterday:
I had third with 5 fish for 6.44
Monty had second with 5 fish for 7.36
and Caleb had first with 2 fish for 10.40 and Big Bass of 5.39
Our March tournament is going to be on Chickamauga in Chattanooga, TN. Hopefully, a few of folks out there will come and check out the Cast-A-Way Bass Club and go fishing with us!
