On Toona and Carters, water temps in the lower 50s to upper 40s. The baitfish have been really difficult to locate on both lakes right now. Every now and then I have been getting a very short glimpse of "spaghetti" on the bottom (40-60' on Toona and 70'+ on Carters), but they scatter very quickly and have been very difficult to stay on top of. Anyone else seeing anything?

I wonder if this super cold weather we are going to have this week will help position them a bit better. Carters Lake area will start to freeze tonight and not get above freezing until Friday afternoon.

I was on Carters last Friday, and about the only bait I found was over 100' deep in the trees. Did find one spot in the neck by the Marina where I saw a couple of small balls in 45', but no game fish near them. Did not have a single bite shallow, mid range or deep. Very bad day, but then it was only my second time fishing there. Threw everything but the Kitchen sink!

Since the saturday night flood the lake ahas risen about 6'. According to the project office they are pulling it pretty hard to get back down. The walkways to the drop off docks were underwater this morning but the rangers think they will be usuable by this coming Saturday. We have a club tournament on Saturday so it should be interesting!
