It would appear that they closed the gates off or stopped draining the lake. As of today (Wednesday) it is holding right below 24'. I haven't talked to the county but my guess would be that the ramp will be open if they don't pull anymore. I will try to confirm today. Long range weather looks like rain on Saturday and a cloudy chilly day on Sunday (high of 51). I'll keep you guys informed if hear anything else.

From I-75 North or South, Take Exit 290 (Cartersville/GA20 Exit) Travel East on GA 20 approximately 500 feet and take a right on GA Spur 20 (Between Kangaroo Grocery and Wendy's), travel approximately 3 miles and take a left on Bartow County Beach Road (the Corps signs no longer exist, so look for the small Gatewood Ramp sign)or turn left on Jim Knight Rd. and go till it dead-ends to Bartow County Beach Rd and turn left. Travel to the end of Bartow County Beach Road and the ramp will be on your left

I just talked to the park manager and the ramp is still open. If the CoE doesn't pull it down any further, the ramp will be open.

Was there yesterday and 1 ramp was opened.
Was not bad launching.

Right now, he park manager has not called me about any closure. They have been trickling the flow this week keeping it pretty constant. So my bet is that it will be open and that's what I am going to plan on for now.

Just checked with Chris down at the park. The ramp is still open and will be open tomorrow too. Everything is GO for tomorrow!

Winds light and variable? I like that!! Cloudy and a high around 53 degrees,, hmmmm? That's not too bad. The ramp is open and we will be out there so come on out and join us.

"Winds light and variable"?? To think I believed them! lol! Well it wasn't "light and variable", but I guess it could've been worse. Overcast, breezy and chilly would describe the conditions a little better. Water temps where we fished were around 50.6 to 51 degrees and the water was about 4' clarity. We had 44 anglers in 26 boats out there today. The ramp is still open, but I hope they don't pull the lake down any lower! We managed the launch and load pretty well and in a timely manner.
The weigh was good today with 40 fish for 60.26lbs weighed in. Big bass was a solid 6.06lb LMB! Here's how the money spots came down:
5th place went to Brian and Dakota with 3 fish for 4.62lbs. for $38
4th place was Big O and Derrick with 3 fish for 4.81lbs and $56
3rd place went to Stephen with 3 fish for 5.61lbs and $75
2nd place went to Alex and Jason with 3 fish for 5.80lbs and $94
1st place went to Jim and Joe C. who schooled us on catching largemouth bass on Allatoona with 3 fish for 11.65LBs and a kicker Big Bass at 6.06lbs. They won $112 for 1st, $125 for Big Bass and $250 in the side pot! Way to go!

We will be back out there next Sunday as long as the ramp is open and roads aren't frozen! Until then, here's wishing all of you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!
